January 31: District 4C6 LCIF Chair Sue Szucs will come to our meeting to talk to us about Lions Clubs International Foundation.
February 7: Roald Alexander will give what might become the first of a series of “Tech Talks”. The topic of the first talk is Passwords: Strategies, Choices, and Password Managers.
February 14: Filmmaker & Motivational Speaker Chris Hennessy.
Chris Hennessy is an experienced Motivational Speaker based in the San Francisco Bay Area. His speaking stories and confidence building messages come from his real-life experiences.
Let’s have good attendance at our meetings for these speakers.
Lion Larry Hernandez has started working on the slate of candidates for next year. This includes the President, 3 Vice-Presidents, Secretary, Treasurer, and Directors. Lion Judy Blandford is currently 1st VP and in-line to be President next year. We currently don’t have a 2nd or 3rd VP, so please consider supporting Judy and stepping up to serve next year. The election needs to be completed by April.
Lion Jim Keller was presented with a Melvin Jones Humanitarian Award plaque and pin at the club meeting on November 1st, following a donation in his honor by the club to Lions International in recognition of his serving two separate terms as Club President. He has been a member since 1967.
This is a part of Lion President Art Low’s plan to recognize all of the club members who have served more than one term as President. Other members to be recognized include Lions Art Low, Brad Abel, and Ed Pansullo.
Updated 11/15: Lion President Art Low read a thank you card from Jim Keller at the Meeting. Jim thanked the club for honoring his service, and talked about how much receiving it meant to him.
Lion President Art Low gave his thanks to the many members and friends of the club who volunteered at Oktoberfest in downtown Campbell on October 14 & 15. The club staffed one of the booths serving beer and wine.
Oktoberfest is sponsored by the Campbell Chamber of Commerce, which makes a donation to the club in return for the volunteers staffing the event. We received a $500 check for our participation this year.
